Issues

Goals/Mission

I want to represent my friends and neighbors in the 32nd District to provide the best opportunities for a successful and secure future.

Education

Education is the single greatest security we can provide our friends, neighbors, and children. As Nelson Mandela said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” We can enhance our educational opportunities with financial literacy programs, mentoring programs, and internships. We must ensure our children have adequate funding for instruction and facilities. And we must guarantee our children have access to sports, arts, clubs, and other extracurricular activities.

Roe vs. Wade

Today we celebrate women.
While the US Supreme Court has decided that women and families are not entitled to the protections and the freedom of choice afforded them under Roe v Wade for the past 49 years, the State of Delaware protects that freedom and those choices under our statute.
I believe that women have the right to choose what to do with their bodies. Neither the U S nor the Delaware Constitutions need to give them that right. Women are born with that
right.
I’m proud to live in Delaware, where we have already enshrined these rights into law. But
this issue is evolving.
The Delaware legislature has now become the last line of defense – and I will hold the line.

Jobs & Economic Opportunity

The 32nd District and all of Kent County needs jobs with competitive wages and benefits – jobs with full-time benefits that pay well above minimum wage. I will work to incentivize banks to make credit available to emerging entrepreneurs. We can work towards attracting computer chip makers and software publishers. We should enhance our mass transportation infrastructure. Improving our quality of life is my goal. And we will hit the ground running. As Pope John Paul II said, “The future starts today, not tomorrow.”

Leadership

JFK said, “Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other.” From High School Jr Class President to President of the State REALTORS® Association to Chair of the CR District Facilities Assessment Citizens Advisory Group to President of the Dover Housing Authority, I move groups forward. I seek consensus, I listen carefully, and I empathize. It is time to set aside our differences and work together to solve our problems, and provide our youth an example of collaborative success.
